Our September Artist of the Month is local artist Molly Van Austen. Molly's work can be seen on the Art Wall next to the New Books shelves.
Painter, Molly Wullstein Van Austen, has had numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Quirini Stampaglia Palace in Venice, Italy, the United States National and International Exhibition in Rome, Paris and Tallahassee, Florida. She is the only American invited to exhibit at the Picard Gallery in Sun Valley Idaho. Her work is included in private collections in Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Mexico as well as the United States.
Van Austen received her master’s degree from the University of Utah and continued doctoral studies at New York University and the California College of Arts.
Now maintaining her studio in Wilsonville, Van Austen was a teacher and longtime resident of the Oregon coast and is a member of The Casbah, a group of painters, writers, sculptors, thespians dedicated to furthering the arts.
