What’s the catch?
There is no catch. Children under the age of five who sign up receive a free book each month until their fifth birthday. All information is kept private. There is no advertising, and no sharing of address information.

How is it funded?
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library was created by, and is administered nationally by the Dollywood Foundation. Locally, the Imagination Library is a project of
Wilsonville Kiwanis
and is funded by local supporters like Dr. Restic at Wilsonville Orthodontics, Xerox, the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Wilsonville Library.

What kind of books are available?
The first book is The Little Engine That Could, then books are chosen based on the child’s age. The last book comes around the child’s fifth birthday. Each book is selected by a team of educators and librarians to be high quality and age appropriate.

When does the first book arrive?
It may take a couple months for the first book to come in the mail, then they come every month.

How do I get the books each month?
They all come directly to your home through U.S. mail.

Can I help support the program?
Yes, you can. Take a look at our Imagination Library brochure for information about how individuals or groups can contribute. You can support a child for a year with a contribution of $25.
7.
Why is it Wilsonville only?
Library funding is based on geographic area, and the program uses zip codes to define participants. If the program is successful and we can get long-term funding, we may be able to extend into nearby zip codes in the future.
