May 2, 2025 — On Wednesday, May 21, the City anticipates re-opening the segment of Boeckman Road east of Interstate 5 that has been closed for more than a year to construct the Boeckman Bridge and a new roundabout at the Canyon Creek Road intersection.

Once the bridge reopens to two-way thru traffic, expect traffic controls as finishing work continues; minor lane and sidewalk closures may be necessary. Until the bridge opens, crews are completing detail work, including paving, signing and road striping.

The completion of the Boeckman Bridge and the new roundabout at the Canyon Creek/Boeckman intersection are the last of seven major milestones completed during this first phase of  Boeckman Road Corridor Improvement Program projects. This major infrastructure upgrade has also provided the community with road improvements, a sewer extension, replacement the Meridian Creek culvert, a temporary traffic signal at Stafford Road and 65th Street, and construction of a joint utility trench under the bridge to relocate many utility lines.

A second phase of the project, scheduled to take place next year, will remove the remaining embankment from the Boeckman dip, and take out the existing culvert and its flow control structure to allow for the restoration of Boeckman Creek beneath the new bridge.  This additional work can be completed without complete road closures.

Grand Opening Event on May 20

The City of Wilsonville is hosting a ribbon-cutting celebration to commemorate the completion of this significant infrastructure project, which supports current and future growth in Frog Pond by more safely and efficiently accommodating vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic.

The City invites neighbors and other interested community members to attend this free event, on Tuesday, May 20, at 4:30 pm at a stage just east of the bridge, at Painter Dr. Join us for free Kona Ice, brief remarks, a ribbon-cutting, and the first opportunity to traverse the new bridge by foot, on cycles, or via SMART shuttle.
