City Seeks Civic-Minded Community Members to Fill Eight Seats on City Boards and Commissions
March 25, 2024 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants interested in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.
New terms begin in July 2024 for eight open seats on four City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.
“Anyone passionate about community involvement should consider applying,” Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald said. “The valuable leadership, insight and oversight that our board members provide helps us sustain the high quality of life we enjoy in Wilsonville.”
Positions to be filled include:
- Three seats on the Arts, Culture & Heritage Commission
- One seat on the Library Board (seeking rep. for unincorporated Clackamas County)
- Two seats on the Tourism Promotion Committee
- Two seats on the Wilsonville-Metro Community Enhancement Committee
Diversity within the City’s Boards and Commissions is critical to ensure that City policies and programs serve people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability. People of all races, genders, ages and nationalities are encouraged to apply.
Qualified applicants are to be interviewed by Mayor Fitzgerald, who makes appointment recommendations to City Council that must be approved by a majority vote.
The application deadline, for new applicants as well as those existing members seeking re-appointment, is Tuesday, April 30. Applications are available and may be completed online at ci.wilsonville.or.us/boardsapp.
