Fall Harvest Festival Returns to Memorial Park This Saturday
October 12, 2021 — Wilsonville’s Parks & Recreation Department is celebrating the season with the return of the annual Fall Harvest Festival, a family-friendly outdoor event on the grounds of Memorial Park. The fun takes place from 10 am to 1 pm this Saturday, Oct. 16, in and around the Stein-Boozier Barn.
In the spirit of the season, community members are invited to don their costumes and enjoy pumpkin decorating, live acoustic music from Hushfire, a live Storytime performance, a costume parade and several other fun activities. Coffee and donuts are available for purchase from Divine Donuts.
“We had to get creative to develop a fun family-friendly event that maintains fall traditions while also remaining mindful of social distancing,” Recreation Coordinator Erica Behler said. “By adding a few new activities and moving beyond the barn, we’re giving people more ground to move around and explore.”
The event includes a pumpkin patch with 500 free pie pumpkins available for attendees to decorate and take home (limit one per person). Purchase of the pumpkins was made possible by a donation from Therapeutic Associates of Wilsonville.
New activities include a balloon artist, an airbrushed-tattoo station, a scavenger hunt and a roaming magician. Residents interested in food scrap composting may pick up a free kitchen compost bucket.
The popular horse and carriage rides are not in this year’s plans because of health and safety precautions.
There is no cost to attend the Fall Harvest Festival. In lieu of an entry fee, organizers invite attendees to donate dog/cat food and/or treats to be distributed by Wilsonville Community Sharing to neighbors in need.
The Fall Harvest Festival activity schedule is subject to change. See complete information and additional details at wilsonvilleparksandrec.com/parksrec/page/fall-harvest-festival.
