Parks Board Awards $12,500 in Opportunity Grant Funds
November 17, 2021— Each year, the City of Wilsonville provides $25,000 in Community Opportunity Grants to support organizations that promote education, diversity, arts or community involvement in Wilsonville.
The first of two award cycles for the 2021-22 fiscal year was completed at the October meeting of the Wilsonville Parks & Recreation Board. The board has awarded grants to three local individuals/organizations:
- The Korean War Memorial Foundation of Oregon received an $8,000 grant to support the design and construction of a Korean War Memorial Interpretive Center at Town Center Park.
- The Charbonneau Arts Association received $3,000 to support its annual arts festival; funding supports improvements to the artist registration process and silent auction management.
- Cameron Kastner received $1,500 to assist with the implementation of a Learn to Skate event in 2022.
Community organizations and individuals can now apply for the second cycle of 2021-22 Community Opportunity Grant awards, which are to be awarded at the April 14, 2022, meeting of the Parks & Recreation Board. The deadline to apply is March 4, 2022.
