Brown Road Improvements
Project Overview
The Brown Road Improvements Project was identified in the City’s Transportation System Master Plan as Urban Upgrade Project UU-03 and approved in the West Side Urban Renewal Plan. This project upgrades Brown Road to better align with current City standards for urban roadways. Improvements focus on enhancing safety, accessibility, and connectivity for all users. The project area extends along Brown Road from SW Wilsonville Road to SW Evergreen Drive. Planned upgrades include constructing shared use paths, stormwater management facilities, and traffic calming measures.
These improvements will provide safer and more efficient access to surrounding neighborhoods and improve overall travel conditions for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Construction Time and What to Expect

FAQ's
How does construction impact traffic?
For most of the construction period, the contractor will maintain at least two 10-foot-wide travel lanes to allow for two-way traffic. At times, certain activities may require the use of flaggers to safely guide vehicles through the work zone.

Status Updates
AUGUST 2026 -- CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
As work continues on the Brown Road Improvements Project, temporary changes to traffic patterns will be implemented to support ongoing construction activities and
utility undergrounding.
Beginning Monday, August 24, southbound Brown Road will be closed through the completion of the utility undergrounding work. The northbound lane of Brown Road will remain open to traffic at all times during the work. Motorists traveling toward Wilsonville Road will be directed to use Evergreen east to Montebello Road as the designated detour route.
Local access to properties along Brown Road will be maintained via Camelot Road to the west. Residents and local traffic should follow posted signs and traffic control
directions when accessing the area.
We understand that temporary traffic changes may require additional planning and appreciate your patience and flexibility while this work is completed. These temporary
measures will allow construction and utility undergrounding activities to continue safely and efficiently while maintaining local access.
