heARTs of Wilsonville: Many Cultures, One Heart ONLINE SILENT AUCTION

Last year, in collaboration with the Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission (ACHC), the City of Wilsonville launched “heARTs of Wilsonville.” The largest public art project in the City’s history, this program was funded by a grant from the Wilsonville - Metro Community Enhancement Program.

A call for artists encouraged submissions representing the theme “Many Cultures, One Heart,” that celebrate the City’s cultural diversity and visually represent the distinctive artistic, cultural, and historical framework that makes Wilsonville a wonderful place.

From among 30 submissions reviewed by the ACHC and members from the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, 10 artists were selected to paint their unique designs on large (52" x 52" x 10") fiberglass hearts. These hearts have been on public display since May at locations throughout Wilsonville (see map attached below).

Five Hearts to be Auctioned – PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING

Five of the 10 hearts now on display have been designated by the ACHC to remain part of the City’s public art collection. The other five hearts (# 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 on the map below) are being auctioned to generate funding for future public art projects.

These hearts are being auctioned ‘as is.’ While photos are provided of each heart, bidders are encouraged to visit the heart(s) they wish to bid on to examine their current condition. 

The auction starts at 10 am on Thursday, February 12. Bids will be accepted until 4 pm on Friday, March 6.
